February is centered around Respect for All Week and Valentine’s Day. This is the time to look more closely at how to give respect and treat others with love and care. Students in grades K-2 will discuss what respect looks like, sounds like and feels like in our school building and our individual classrooms. Students will go one step further and understand that along with respect we can also give love and care to our fellow students. We will experience what it would feel like to give and receive love and care by making a personalized Valentine card for another student in the class. They will write a caring message to the person and decorate it for them from the heart. Students in grades 3-5 will be continuing to get to know their Tribe members more closely through an inclusion activity that shares their dreams, wishes and accomplishments with each other. They will appreciate their differences but also highlight their similarities in collaborating on selecting an official name for their Tribe.
