Welcome to the Fun Zone of Learning! 2015-2016 School Year

Dear Families,

Our students will begin the school year with not only learning, but being physically active as well. The numerous amounts of games that we are planning to play not only allows students to have fun, but it also allows them to feel a sense of accomplishment after acquiring the new skills that will be beneficiary to them in the real world.

This school year, I’ll introduce the students to different activities and sport units that will change periodically. Games and skill practice will be modified to best meet the needs of the students. Individual, as well as, group games will be geared towards improving each of the students self image, so that they may learn to be confident in the way they approach their academic careers. I try to create a fun and enjoyable environment where the students can feel comfortable and relaxed.

Establishing a good gymnasium discipline is essential to each child’s success, confidence, and well-being. Every child should feel that the gymnasium environment is safe and secure; free from all threats of physical or emotional harm. In addition, it is important that each child learn to develop self-discipline and good work habits, to resolve conflicts peacefully, and to think independently.

I believe that parent-teacher relationships are necessary for maximum school success. Throughout the year I will communicate with parents through notes, telephone calls, emails, report cards and parent-teacher conferences. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. Please know that I will respond diligently but not during instructional time. I consider it a great privilege and responsibility to be your child’s teacher and I look forward to meeting with all parents.

Please be aware that one of my expectations is that students wear clothes and footwear that are appropriate for physical activity according to the schedule. Sneakers are important in order to maintain the safest environment possible in the gym. If there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

I would like to reiterate that I am looking forward to a great year working with all students! Thank you in advance for your concern and support throughout the year!!!

Sincerely,

Physical Education and Health teacher – Mrs. Glotova
