Tribes Bulletin Board for May

The First Grade did the Tribes Bulletin Board for May focusing on the Tribes Agreement, “Safety with Body and Heart.”  First graders learned how realistic fiction authors create fictional characters and place them in real life adventures/situations.  Students were taught how a realistic fiction story includes a beginning, middle, end, setting, problem and solution.  Students also learned how to bring their stories to life by describing how their character feels and acts.  For this task, first graders created a fictional character who uses “safety with body and heart” on an adventure.  They answered the essential question: How can I use what I know about realistic fiction to share how others can show “safety with body and heart?”
