Grade 4 Civil Rights Wax Museum

Our 4th grade students conducted in-depth research of notable people who were instrumental in the Civil Rights Movement for their PBL unit.  Not only did they research their accomplishments, but also how life was for them growing up, obstacles they faced and how they contributed to the movement. The students took this character study to a whole new level as they physically took on the persona of the people they researched.  For the wax museum, the students were dressed as their notable person and talked about their life stories using ‘first person’ dialogue. Some characters sang, while others answered questions as our ‘student wax figures’ came to life to tell their stories. What an amazing job!
