The kindergarten application is now open! If you live in New York City and have a child born in 2017, be sure to apply by January 23, 2022.
To apply, complete and submit your child’s kindergarten application one of three ways by the deadline:
- Online with MySchools.nyc—Recommended! Create your account today. You’ll use MySchools to search for elementary schools, find great choices for your child’s application, apply to kindergarten, and get your child’s offer. Watch these video tutorials to learn how to create your MySchools account and how to apply.
OR
- By phone at 718-935-2009. Call us Monday-Friday between 8am and 6pm.
- By email or in person at a Family Welcome Center. Learn how at schools.nyc.gov/FWC.
You can list up to 12 choices on your child’s application. Please note that kindergarten admissions is not first come, first served: there is no advantage to applying early, and all applications received by the deadline are treated the same.
