Welcome to The Academy of Talented Scholars (TAOTS)!
Here at TAOTS, we have high expectations for each of our students. As we embark on our educational journey each year, we continue our commitment to your child’s social, emotional and academic growth. As a community, we take pride in the quality education that we provide our students.
Please follow our blog on this website for for keeping up with student life at TAOTS, and for announcements with information for parents on events such as Curriculum Night at the beginning of the school year.
TAOTS makes the list of 2017-2018 Reward Schools
2017 Blue Ribbon Lighthouse Award
2015 US Department of Education Blue Ribbon School
2014 Principal of the Year, United Chinese Association of Brooklyn
2013 Educator of the Year, United Progressive Democratic Club
2013 Grand Marshall of the 32nd Annual Brooklyn Columbus Day Parade, sponsored by The Federation of Italian-American Organization
Curriculum Night begins in your child’s classroom, where teachers discuss specific grade goals as they relate to the Common Core Learning Standards (CCLS), expectations, curriculum, enrichment clusters, monthly trips, Tribes, partnerships, classroom policies and answer any questions you may have. Afterwards, we transition into the auditorium, where parents have the opportunity to meet their children’s specialty teachers. Our specialty teachers always have an exciting year planned and can’t wait to share it with you!
Additionally, following Curriculum Night in the auditorium is our first PTO meeting. The PTO always has valuable information to share with our families and staff, so please get involved! Elections are held annually for open PTO positions. We look forward to 100% participation and meeting everyone and sharing a successful school year.
