During this unit, our readers worked hard to use their strategies for solving tricky words as well as understanding their books. We celebrated all their hard work during this unit by reading to kindergarteners. Check out these first graders in action!
During our Context For Learning unit, our Mathematicians were tasked with “organizing” our teacher closet and taking inventory of our supplies. Through this exploration, students learned that making groups of 10’s and 20’s is easier to count and keep track of, especially with supplies that went over 100! Check out all their hard work!
Our mathematicians are learning to identify different 2D and 3D shapes and categorize them based on color, shape, size. They explored whether different 3D shapes were stackable, slidable, or rollable. They also learned to identify how many sides and corners different shapes have.
